Music for worshipping on another world

I woke up this morning wondering what it would be like to go to temple on another planet. I’ve been reading the post-Earth space opera Hyperion and one of the stories follows a Catholic priest who admits to falsifying evidence of a Christological society on a planet that pre-dates anything he believes happened on Earth. I was fascinated by that, partially as an exercise in how far we can go before we’re willing to let a belief about ourselves or our context go, and partially because I very badly want to talk to other people on other planets about what they think is going on around here when it comes to the Big Questions and whatnot.
Since I don’t have a radio that reaches that far, I decided to make a playlist instead of what sort of stuff they might play during their celebrations or services or whatever they might be called there. Shout out to the cosmos, shout out to temples, and shout out to this cover from PVA of Big Thief’s track “Not”. Only a Spotify link this time but Songwhip appears either to be down or unexcited about translating this playlist to other services. Happy Sunday and feel free to freak the fuck out (good way version).
