Very little makes the ancient mysteries of the giant machine stop mattering for me as quickly as weird socks can. I thought what I wanted was to find out what’s going on here, but the truth appears to be that all I care about is socks with little mushroom dudes on them or ones with little gradients replicating the evening sky. As Rumi famously said: “out past Good and Evil, there is a field. I’ll sell you socks there” and I will be at the front of that line whenever the Great Big Bell bonks itself for me.
